It's amazing how long a summer can be when you don't have a job. Why did the circus have to go away. I was having such fun working for the circus. I could have followed them up to Vancouver and... not made money since I'm not Canadian and don't want to cancel my study permist for a work permit. Bleh. Well, I baked a blueberry pie and the crust is delicious. Of course I had my father for moral support, so we shall see how it goes when I'm on my own again. And yes, making a good crust is stressful. Don't argue.

This is where I'm gonna post some cute kid pictures of me, cause I'm such a follower.

This one was in first grad when my class went to the zoo. Before we could go, we obviously had to make those cute little zoo animal t-shirts. I'm on the left, then there's my friends Tabby and Catlin, some girl I can't remember and facing away from the camera is Minnie Mau. She was born on a leap year.

This was Kindergarten, on a similar field trip only to Nut Tree, which I believe no longer exists. Me and my best buddy Ryan sat together on the miniature train. If you can't tell who's who, well I'm not helping you on this one.

Went to the beach today with a buch of animators. It was quite the adventure. Got a little sunburnt, a little wet and a lot of sand in my hair. I passed my camera around the group at one point and the resulting pictures look like some sort of mysterious photo essay. Especially Winston.

I have no idea who took most of these, so it shall have to remain a mystery.

It's amazing what four hours of sleep and a good clean face can do for your mood. And breakfast. Only not breakfast. A glass of juice because I have no breakfasty food left in my apartment.I'll be taking care of that today though. JOY!

So I guess I'll do that meme thingy... the one about ways to bribe me. Yeah.

1. Offer her food. Tasty food. Especially her dad's cooking. Or poutine.
2. Offer to make all of her work be done for her. And give her an A. That's not usually something a person is bribed with, is it? Oh well. I can wish...

Yeah. I went home over the weekend to see the occupational therapist. Apparently I need to sit with better posture or some such nonsense. Note that if you could see me right now- ok, well 15 minutes ago before I rememebred the back pain and wrist pain and general discomfort- I would have been sitting corssleggeg, slouched, with my keyboard about half a foot away from me. I'm trying, ok! Cut me a little slack. *sigh* And now it's time for 6 hours of class. Pray that I get out early.

I'm not sure if I'm not not working on my two character because I need to learn a couple things about after effects before I can continue, or if I'm just using that as an excuse not to continue because of my lazyness. I have a feeling it's a little bit of both. Once Kora shows me how to do the things I want I'll have no more excuses, so I'll have to do it. Ugh.... I was being so efficent earlier this term. That effiency has officially gone out the window. Oh well. It probably also has a little to do with the fact that I don't want to over work my wrist and have to stop working completely. I'll just have to wait till the end of the term to see how things turn out.

I have some salmon in my freezer that I need to cook. Maybe I'll do that tonight. I should probably take it out to thaw if I want to cook it tonight though.... Maybe I'll go do that.

Yeah, it's been forever. I figure since I've started living on my computer again, it is high time I started updating this old friend again. Thursday was Natalie's birthday and so last night we were all supposed to go out to this club she had put us on the guest list at. So we got there and they wouldn't let me in because "I was wearing sneakers." What the fuck? They let everyone else in our group in and I'm pretty sure most everyone was wearing sneakers. Or runners. Maybe runners are ok. Maybe they just have a thing against converse. Or maybe they have a things against Americans. Or maybe there was a height limit and the bouncer didn't want to say anything. Either way, I won't be going there- ever.

Rachel mentioned that she might come visit me this weekend, and didn't. That's new. That girl is never going to make it up here, I don't care what she claims. She needs to work on her planning skills. I'm one to talk. I haven't visited anyone at school since first year. Oh well. Hopefully I'll get to go visit Rachel for a bit over Reading Week. I have so much I need to do over that week off though. As of now the only summer internship Pixar is showing is a TD internship, which I definitely could not do. I really hope they post an animation internship... I'd cry if they don't. They might not though. They are kind of in between films right now. But if they need tds, I don't see why they won't need animators too. Just keep your fingers crossed for me.

I think that's enough for one night...

Good lord, I can't believe September is already almost over. It seems incredible to me. I know I haven't been posting lately. I never post anymore. See, I have to keep a journal for Storytellying for Animation and what with writing in that every single day I just don't feel terribly up for posting more on my livejournal. Plus I've been feeling quite drained this year. It's been a rather peculiar year so far. I haven't exactly settled into the flow of classwork just yet. I do really like the classes I have so far though. Except maybe 3D. I really should try paying more attention in that class. Give Leslie a bit more of a chance. Give myself more of a chance as well. The work I've done for it so far hasn't exactly been teh best I've ever done. Especially since I'm in a class of overachivers. Speaking of, I really should get back to work on some of the mounds of homework I have to do... If you're really depserate to know what's going on with me, feel free to message me on msn. I am always on, aren't I?

Back to the grind. It's strange how while I'm quite satisfied right now, I feel amazingly pessimistic about the school year right now. And yet I don't. It's strange. I'm just feeling very contradictory right now. I happy to be back, but I feel sullen. I'm really enjoying seeing everyone again, and yet I'm feeling antisocial. I can't explain it, I just feel drained. And this is the first week fo classes. Good way to start... At least I'm really enjoying my classes so far. We'll see how the rest turn out. And how my studio relationships turn out... *sigh* Sometimes life is so hard to live with...

At approximately 6 pm today it was decided that I would be going to Pearl Jam. Well, techincally it was tomorrow... but I hate techinicalities like that. Pearl Jam was awsome. I've been rather addicted to my good old Seattle bands lately, so it was perfect timing for me to go see them. Plus I got a phone number! Of course, if it's the guy that Valerie think it is, he has a girlfriend, but of course that would be just my luck. But yes, Pearl Jam, very good. Halfway through the show I realized that my phone has a recorder and recorded most of Wish List. So yes, I am now the proud owner of a live recording of Pearl Jam. And lots of pictures. Now I think I'm going to go collapse on my bed. Perhaps I'll actually get more than 4 hours of solid sleep tonight... Doubtful, but one can hope!

Wow. This is so strange. I'm getting so used to this 120 degree weather. I just spent the last week in Vacaville, where I lived until I was 8. When we moved, there was one freeway exit, one high school, about a dozen stop lights and a movie theater. It was rather like Woodinville, only hottet, drier and generally uglier. Now it has 7 freeway exits, two malls, two high schools and almost nothing looks the same. It's amazing. I remember when we moved away, I promised myself I would move back home as soon as I got the opportunity. Well, now this isn't home anymore. It's more like a foreign country than anywhere I've ever been. Weird. I'm having a great time, but at night I want nothing more than to be home in Vancouver. Because that's where home is now.

Fresno is nice. Hot. Mind numbingly hot. But it's always been that way. Never this hot, but hey, global warming! It's nice up in Canada, but down where summer was already hot it's really getting unbearable. It's great to see family again. My cousin Kris brought her two sons. My god, little boys are SO MUCH WORK. I have been sleeping so soundly these past two nights after spending the day playing with Brian and carrying around Scott. Brian is 5 and Scott is 2 and my god are they fun.

Can't wait to be back, but I'm sure you all know that! JACK JOHNSON!!!! 6 days!!!!

Yeah, I haven't updated in ages. No I am not dead. I simply haven't had anything terribly exciting to post about. As difficult, long and boring as this summer has been, I've hit a sudden high three weeks before I was expecting to. (If you don't know why I should be very happy in three weeks time, feel free to ask. I'm amazed I haven't told you all about it yet...) I suddenly feel absolutely unspeakably happy. For no reason whatsoever. For example, today I was working in kids (the living hell of Macys, which is saying a lot.) I wasn't bored, I wasn't grumpy, I wasn't depressed. I was just happy. I just hope this lasts. I don't see why it won't, since my summer will only be uphill from here on in.

One observation I feel obliged to share, one that Lea and I made while in Vancouver in June, is that somehow dads are getting much more attractive. Today, while I was working in kids, an absolutely beautiful dad came in, with the cutest little girl. I know it's because my tastes are changing and I'm getting older, but I swear, they didn't used to make dads this hot...

Never in all my life did I think I would ever hear a cover of Hey Ya on the accordion. I love Jason Webley! He's coming up to do a show in Vancouver in October and I will actually disown anyone in animation that does not come. Unless they have a real good reason. As soon as the actual date is scheduled, everyone will mark their calendars and make no other plans for the night.

Ok, so today I had such a girly day. When I left home I hadn't really though about just how girly my plans were, but since I had today off, I went to Gene Juarez and got my hair cut, then I drove to Bellevue and bought new shoes and tried out a new makeup brand. I definitely needed it. The girl that cut my hair was really sweet. Plus she used to work for the bon, so we got to gossip about all the strange little details of working there. Then the guy that I bought my shoes from at nordstrom was SO HOT. DAMN. He gave me his card and told me that next time I need to get new shoes I should look online, find some styles I like, then give him a call and he can order them in my size for me. I know he was just trying to get a new loyal customer- quite succesfully- but DAMN! It was REALLY nice to be spoiled by someone as beautiful as him. *giggles* And I got new shoes out of it too. On sale! *sigh* Now if only I could start dating a cute guy like that. Ah, what dreams...
